Kendrick Lamar's 'good kid, m.A.A.d. city' Inspires New Short Film

On the album cover of the Kendrick Lamar's 2012 masterpiece good kid, m.A.A.d. city, a caption reads, "a short film by Kendrick Lamar." Now, that album has inspired an actual short film. The flick will simply be called m.A.A.d. and it's being directed by Kahlil Joseph, who previously made the Flying Lotus short film Until the Quiet Comes. It will premiere on August 9 at Sundance's NEXT Fest at the Ace Hotel in Los Angeles. A poster for the event reveals that the film was commissioned by Lamar himself.
